During these difficult times, there is a lot of uncertainty and fear. At AAA City Removalist, we’ve taken strict measures to ensure the safety of our employees, customers as well as the general public.
THE IMPORTANCE OF SELF ISOLATION AND SOCIAL DISTANCING
Staff members who have returned from overseas should isolate themselves at home and monitor their health closely. If you develop symptoms including a fever and cough you should seek medical advice.
People who think they may have been in close contact with a confirmed case of Coronavirus, should also isolate home, monitor their health and seek medical advice if key symptoms develop.
This information sheet should be read in conjunction with the ‘What you need to know’ and ‘Isolation guidance’ information sheets found at www.health.gov.au/covid19-resources. Go to www.health.gov.au/covid19-travellers for the current list of higher risk countries.
CAN YOU GO TO WORK?
If you’ve returned from overseas or had close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19, you must isolate at home.
Employees who are in isolation should alert their employer. Depending on the type of work, and provided the employee is well, they may want to discuss alternative arrangements such as working from home. See the ‘Isolation guidance’ information sheets at www.health.gov.au/covid19-resources
HOW AAA CITY REMOVALIST IS HANDLING THE COVID-19 SITUATION
All our employees and alliance partners are kept up to date with the latest guidelines provided by the Australian government. We are committed to keeping our employees, partners and the community safe during such unprecedented times.
We are continuing to seek advice from our strategic alliances and partners such NatRoad, Australian Trucking Association, our Parramatta Chambers of Commerce which we are Gold Members of. We also receive regular advice from the World Health Organization, NSW Public Health, Australian Public Health and of course all other news which we keep up to date with by the minute.
We are quarantining our FREE hiring boxes and cartons as well as practising good hygiene by regularly wiping down and cleaning our trucks and equipment with strong disinfectants.
WE CONTINUE TO PROVIDE SERVICES FOR LOCAL, COUNTRY AND INTERSTATE RELOCATIONS
We understand that those who’ve planned to move or are in the process of moving have been highly disrupted by these uncertain times, which is why AAA City Removalist is working hard to continue to be there for you.
CAN FOOD AND WATER SPREAD CORONAVIRUS?
Some coronaviruses can potentially survive in the gastrointestinal tract however, food-borne spread is unlikely when food is properly cooked and prepared. With good food preparation and good hand hygiene, it is highly unlikely that you will become infected with coronavirus through food.
It is unknown at this time if the virus is able to survive in sewerage. Those who work closely with sewerage should take the same precautions as those outlined above for cleaners. Drinking water in Australia is high quality and is well treated. It is not anticipated that drinking water will be affected by coronavirus.
HOW CAN WE HELP PREVENT THE SPREAD OF CORONAVIRUS?
Practising good hygiene is the best defence against most viruses. You should:
- Wash your hands frequently with soap and water, including before and after eating, and after going to the toilet.
- Cover your cough and sneeze, dispose of tissues, and wash your hands.
- Avoid contact with others (stay more than 1.5 metres from people).
- Keep a hand sanitizer with you at all times. Use it after you touch door handles, ATM and other public items that tend to be hot spots for germs.
- Practice Social distancing as much as possible.
- Use facemasks if you suspect you are infected.
- Wipe down and clean all surfaces regularly.
